The 2020 Summer Camp consist of two days of immersive learning at Great Bend, Kansas on June 1st and 2nd. We will meet daily from 9am-noon and 1-5pm. Workshop offerings include the following sessions
Mixed Media Experience

Join Shawny for a mixed media experience you'll not soon forget. In this workshop you'll learn how to create the special 3-D effect Shawny has developed in her mixed media work. You'll also learn how to create citrasolve papers, how to use stencils to create unique textures and a variety of other techniques.
Please bring 3 or 4 National Geographic magazines, 4 cereal or cracker boxes, a good pair of scissors & exacto knife.
Fabric Modification, Creation and Application

Fiber Arts workshop focusing on creating your own fabrics and then incorporating those fabrics into a wall hanging or functional tote. We will focus on painting and dyeing techniques that will allow you to create or modify fabric to fit your vision and then put our fabric creations together into a finished artwork. Fabric modification techniques will include silk painting, batik, shibori, as well as experimenting with different dyes, paints, inks and resists. Surface design and application techniques will include machine and hand stitching, couching, piecing, ribbon weaving and experimenting with various layering techniques.
